Class 1 Experience and Equivalency
Completion of the full program of Core and Competency sections of the Class 1 Experience and Equivalency provides an unrestricted Class 1 Driver’s Licence. Students that take Entry and Core sections will receive a provincial-restricted Class 1 Licence.
Total Hours: 57-65
Full Learning Pathway: $6500
Core only: $4000
Class 1 Road Test Permit: $217
Air Brakes Program (if required): $275
Use of equipment for one road test is included at no charge in this program.

To take the Experience and Equivalency program, drivers must:
have a valid Alberta Class 3 or Class 2 driver’s licence
have held an Alberta Class 3 or Class 2 driver’s licence or the equivalent driver’s licence from another Canadian jurisdiction for 2 or more years
have 2 or more years of documented work experience operating a motor vehicle with 3 or more axles (vehicles that require at least a class 3 license to drive)
apply to the Government to have their experience verified
submit the application form with requested documentation of experience

If approved you will receive an approval letter by email, which must be presented to register for the course.
This course is a Government of Alberta mandated program with two sections:
Core Learning:
40 hours of driving and in-yard truck lessons.
Road Test for provincial-restricted licence.
Competency Building:
17-25 hours of post licence tailored instruction.
Road Test must be passed before taking these hours.
These prices do not include a Driver’s Medical or the Government Road Test Permit.
